Drag and Drop Email Editor: How to Design a Custom Email

Learn how to create a custom email using iLife's drag and drop editor.

Create an Email From Scratch

1. Log into your iLife account and click on ‘Email Campaigns’ in the left navigation under ‘Marketing Hub.’

2. Click on the ‘Content Templates’ tab and select the ‘Blank’ template.

3. Give your email a Campaign Title and Subject, then click ‘Open Editor.’

4. To add rows to the email, select ‘Columns’ module and drag to the email.

5. Continue to drag and drop elements (image, heading, text, button, etc.) from the ‘Content’ section on the right into each section.

To edit any element, simply click on the area in the email and the relevant section on the right sidebar will pop up.

6. Customize each element's settings, such as container padding, text styles and alignment, and change element and background colors with Hex and RGB codes.

7. Once the email design is complete, preview the email to ensure it looks like you expect. You can preview for desktop and mobile devices.

8. To add a new element to the email, click on the "Elements" tab in the left-hand sidebar, choose the element you want to add, and drag it onto the email template.

9. Customize the element's settings, such as its size, position, and color, using the editing tools in the right-hand sidebar.

10. Continue to add and edit elements until you are satisfied with the design of your email.

11. Click ‘ Save as Template.’

Prepare Your Contact List

1. Your email contact lists are in the ‘List’ tab in the Email Campaigns section.

2. To create a new list, select ‘+ New List.’

3. Select the criteria for your list (e.g. Source, Status, Product Type, State, and Date Added).

4. Once your criteria is selected, add a name to ‘List Name’ and click ‘Save.’

Launch Your Email

1. Once you are ready to send, click on your template under ‘My Templates.’

2. Select ‘Edit’ at the bottom left of the email preview.

3. Select ‘Select Recipients’ at the top right of the screen.

4. Check the list(s) to send to.

5. Select ‘Preview and Send.’

6. If you want to preview your email, click the "Preview" button in the top menu.

7. To send immediately, select ‘Send now’; to schedule for the future, select ‘Schedule for Later.
